My big trip of 2003 was a ride to Colorado to visit my new Grandson, Dylan. I also had several stops along the way to visit my Dad in Oklahoma City, friends in Grand Junction, CO, in-laws in Steamboat Springs, CO, friends in Laramie, WY, and a brother and sister-in-law in Denver, CO. I had done the ride to Oklahoma City before (see the 1999 trip) and wanted to spend more time out west, so I hauled the bike to OKC along 1200 miles of Interstate 40, saving 2400 round trip miles of Interstate, leaving 2350 miles for riding the bike. As with many of my trips, some days are sparse of pictures and journal, simply because of long riding days or lousy weather. In all, I had one rainy morning ride, and one long day of persistant 45mph side winds. Not bad considering the many days of gorgeous weather. Kim flew out to Grand Junction, CO and rode with me a few days to Denver, CO - getting to see the better parts of the ride. Too bad she missed the southwest portion of Colorado, really spectacular country, but I know I missed some nice roads, and plan to be back someday soon for another visit with my daughter and grandson. Hope you enjoy the ride.
