Just a short ride to Raleigh for the Biker's Boulevard "Winter Sucks" party. This is a local third-party dealer who knows how to party. Me, Huck and Lil'Mut, the one-wheeled trailer, ran down there in the cold rain and set up as a vendor, so I can shamelessly plug it on my website as part of a legitimate "ride" ... wasn't much of a ride though. A couple miles past a sausage, egg and cheese croissandwich, I pulled in with a handful of other vendors and set up in their front parking lot, dodged a few more rain drops and watched as the other guys chased down their flyers and business cards in the high winds.

At one point I counted over 100 bikes in the lot. Half of the riders in line at any given time for BBQ and cole slaw or wandering through the showroom floor. A sweet display of customs adorned the front grass right alongside Hwy 70 near the Raleigh-Durham Airport.

Wasn't long after the gig got started, the sun came out, the winds died down and the bikes started rolling in. At some point after noon, Blaine and Janet from Hogs for Dogs (www.HogsForDogs.org) pulled up and quickly gathered a crowd. Max and Bailey got their fair share of scrathes and hugs from the kids and the adults.

 
Gotta say the band was mediocre, but the BBQ was good. Couldn't find a beer anywhere and the Iced Tea was too sweet, but who cares - any excuse to get out of the house and watch the ladies in their tight chaps is a good reason to brave the cold. The party didn't last as long as I thought it was gonna. By 4pm everyone was pulling out and the vendors packing up. Next time I'll refrain from calling it a party...
